The Eagle has added articles from Sports Illustrated and TheStreet to our website. Access is free with a digital subscription. While covering local news will always remain our core mission, we are happy to be able to offer this additional content to our subscribers at no extra charge.
Sports Illustrated is the gold standard of American sportswriting, and we can now offer regular updates on your favorite teams and athletes from SI’s award-winning stable of writers.
TheStreet is a financial news and financial literacy website. Subscribers to the Eagle can now count on a steady stream of business news, money management tips, corporate earnings reports and financial trend features.

We’ve also added Parade Magazine to our digital lineup. A longtime staple of newspaper inserts, Parade stopped publishing a print edition last year. But now it’s back with a digital version, which you’ll find attached to the end of our eEdition. You’ll get the same celebrity interviews, entertainment news and lifestyle stories that have long been the magazine’s hallmarks, but with even more content and lots of links to related stories.
If you’re already a subscriber, this enhanced content is our way of saying thanks for supporting our trusted community journalism. If you haven’t yet signed up for a subscription, well, here’s one more incentive to do so.
In case you missed it, last week’s edition of the Eagle featured stories on the latest wolf numbers in Grant County and the state, a change in the way Blue Mountain Hospital delivers home health services, John Day’s status in the R3 agreement and a late-season charge by the Grant Union baseball team.
Coming up in this week’s paper, look for stories on a proposed fire protection assessment increase from the Oregon Department of Forestry, plans for security improvements by the Grant School District, a fundraiser for John Day businesses damaged in the April 17 fire and more.
