- Amazon Wants Customers To Change Shipping Habit and Will Pay Them To Do It
Amazon – (AMZN) – Get Free Report is urging customers to change the way they receive their orders in order to cut future costs.
The e-commerce king has sent a $10 discount for orders of $25 or more to an unspecified number of Prime subscribers to try picking up their orders from select locations instead of having it delivered directly to their residences. These locations range from major stores like Whole Foods, Kohl’s, and Amazon Fresh or at Amazon lockers.

Amazon’s move can not only help shipping costs but also improve workflow and efficiency for its deliveries. It also trains users in making direct returns by teaching them of the locations of Amazon’s hubs.
Amazon Prime had prided itself on free direct shipping for years as a core selling point to customers, but rising delivery-costs have forced the company to make shifts. It had already raised its annual Prime subscription price from $119 to $139 last year and continues to encourage customers to have items delivered on a specific ‘Amazon Day’ where all their parcels ordered in a week will arrive on the same day.
The company also recently announced that it would begin charging some customers a $1 fee for returns through UPS — a service that was previously free of charge — in an attempt to encourage more direct returns from customers at Amazon-owned retailers.
