PRAIRIE CITY — Chase Bloom will be the new Prairie City district ranger, effective June 4, the Malheur National Forest announced.
Bloom is currently the engineering, minerals and fleet staff officer on the Malheur National Forest. He has worked on the forest since 2019.
Prior to that he was a project engineer on the Six Rivers National Forest in Northern California.
Bloom grew up in Weiser, Idaho, backpacking, hunting and fishing on public lands. He holds an associate’s degree in natural resources from Treasure Valley Community College. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in environmental resources engineering and a master’s degree in business administration, both from Humboldt State University.
Bloom lives in Prairie City with his wife KaCee, and their two children. They enjoy spending their free time traveling, recreating outdoors and exploring public lands in the West, according to a Malheur National Forest news release.
“I am honored and excited to join the team on the Prairie City Ranger District,” Bloom said. “I’m looking forward to working collaboratively with our stakeholders to sustain the health, diversity and productivity of our public lands. There are so many exciting things happening on the district and some incredible partners that are ready to get to work. I can’t wait to get started.”
