Circuit Court
The Grant County Circuit Court reported the following activity for the week ending July 26:
July 14
Dakoda Keith Cazier, 27, of Canyon City pleaded guilty to criminal mischief, a class A misdemeanor, committed on Feb. 2, 2022. He was sentenced to 12 months of supervised probation and ordered to pay $1,299.92 in restitution. Cazier was also ordered to complete 200 hours of community service within 45 days or submit to 120 hours in jail, pay fees, fines and restitution, participate in a substance abuse evaluation and submit to controlled substance testing as conditions of his probation.
July 21
Matthew E. Sagaser, 37, of John Day pleaded guilty to perjury, a class C felony, and tampering with evidence, a class A misdemeanor, in connection with an incident that occurred on Sept. 27. Sagaser was sentenced to 19 months in prison and may receive credit for time served. He was also sentenced to a 24-month term of post-prison supervision following his release and ordered to pay $925 in fines and attorney fees. He was also ordered to participate in a substance abuse evaluation and not posses weapons, firearms or dangerous animals as conditions of his probation.
