Circuit Court
The Grant County Circuit Court reported the following activity for the week ending Nov. 15:
Nov. 13
Sunnie Jean Moore, 26, of John Day, pleaded guilty to a Class A misdemeanor count of aggravated harassment, committed on May 1. She was sentenced to jail for 180 days. She was also convicted of probation violation for committing a new crime and was ordered to serve 60 days in jail to run concurrently with earlier sentences.
Tyler Dane Opie, 28, of Burns, pleaded guilty to a Class A misdemeanor count of driving under the influence of intoxicants, committed on July 17. He was placed on bench probation for 24 months and was ordered to complete a victim impact panel program, obtain a substance abuse assessment, not enter or frequent places where alcohol is sold and complete 80 hours of community service. He was ordered to pay a fine of $2,000, and his driver’s license was suspended for a year.
Jacob Steven Ellson, 32, of Prairie City, pleaded guilty to a Class B misdemeanor count of harassment, committed on Nov. 13. He was placed on bench probation for 12 months and was ordered to have no contact with the victim, not use or possess intoxicants, and obtain a domestic violence assessment. A count of assault in the fourth degree was diverted.
Bobby Lee Ruston, 46, of Mt. Vernon, was convicted of probation violation for failing to report to jail and failing to obtain evaluations as directed. He was sentenced to 30 days in jail — 20 for the original sentence and 10 for failing to obtain evaluations as directed.
Jason A. Ludlow, 38, of Lincoln City, pleaded guilty to a Class B misdemeanor count of harassment committed on Sept. 1. He also pleaded guilty to a Class B misdemeanor count of harassment committed between Sept. 1, 2022, and March 29, 2023. He was placed on supervised probation for 24 months and was ordered to serve 30 days in jail, complete 40 hours of community service, have no contact with the victim, complete a psycho-sexual evaluation and pay a fine of $200 for both counts.
Nov. 14
Joseph David Tirico, of Mt. Vernon, was convicted of probation violation by consuming or possessing intoxicants. He was also convicted of probation violation on a separate case for failure to obtain an evaluation or complete treatment and consuming methamphetamine. For both cases, he was ordered to serve a total of 40 days in jail.
Nov. 15
Sunnie Jean Moore, 26, of John Day, was convicted of probation violation for committing a new crime and was ordered to serve 30 days in jail to run concurrently with earlier sentences.
