The Elks will host a free Thanksgiving dinner for the whole community, with turkey, ham, all the traditional side dishes and dessert. Grant County residents are invited to dine in or pick up a boxed meal to go. Carrie Young Memorial Dinner and Auction

• 5 p.m., John Day Elks Lodge, 140 NE Dayton St.

Annual fundraiser to provide Christmas presents for nursing homes and basic necessities for vulnerable seniors living independently. The event starts with a spaghetti dinner, available by donation. There will also be a silent auction for a wide array of gift baskets, as well as a live auction of various items and raffle drawings for a cord of wood, a rifle and a scope.

Hospital Auxiliary Bazaar

The Blue Mountain Hospital Auxiliary hosts this annual bazaar, which features a large assortment of gift items, many of them handcrafted. Light Up a Life

Tim Nodine Memorial Clay Pigeon Shoot

• 11 a.m.-3 pm., Brad and Julie Smith’s B Bar J Ranch, Highway 402, milepost 9, Monument

This event is a fundraiser to help the family of Tim Nodine, who died unexpectedly, with medical bills and other expenses. The clay pigeon shoot will include men’s, women’s and children’s divisions at a cost of $3 a round. There will be a live auction at 1 p.m. with a dessert auction to follow. Food and drinks will be available for purchase. If you’d like to donate an auction item or dessert, call Amy Smetana at 541-620-4476.
