The main event will be a clay pigeon shoot with men’s, women’s and children’s divisions. The cost to participate is $3 a round.

Spots open on ATV panel

SALEM — The Oregon Parks and Recreation Department is looking to fill two open seats on its All-Terrain Vehicle Advisory Committee. The positions will represent law enforcement and emergency medical services.

The 17-member committee’s mission is to review safety features of all classes of off-highway vehicles, examine accidents and fatalities resulting from ATV recreation, study safety-related changes to statutory vehicle classifications and make recommendations to the Oregon State Parks and Recreation Commission. The committee also recommends safety rules for child operators and riders of off-highway vehicles.

Ideal candidates should work for an agency that works with all-terrain vehicle activities. The law enforcement representative should patrol an ATV riding area. The EMS rep should be familiar with ATV injuries and responses.

The deadline to apply is Friday, Jan. 12. The application form is available online at http://tinyurl.com/kamhsyfh.
