Dayville boil water notice lifted

DAYVILLE — A boil water notice for Dayville residents, in place for nearly two weeks, was lifted on Wednesday, Feb. 21.

Residents of Dayville woke up on Feb. 8 with little or no water pressure after the town’s 125,000-gallon reservoir tank suffered a leak on a main, and residents were warned not to drink the water without boiling it. A separate leak was found on Feb. 12.

Since then, all leaks have been resolved, residents have had normal water pressure and the reservoir has been filling up normally, said Dayville Public Works Director Savanna Martin.

Over a two-week period, water pressure was slowly building back up in the storage tank, which is fed by springs and a well, officials said. Martin said the city sent water to a lab in Prineville for testing, and the lab notified the city on Feb. 21 that the water was once again safe to drink.
