JOHN DAY — Grant School District Superintendent Mark Witty has agreed to extend his contract with the district through the 2025-26 school year. The Grant School Board approved the extension by a 6-0 vote.

“I am deeply humbled by the support and trust that Grant School District 3 and our board of directors have extended me,” Witty said. “I truly believe, through continued collaboration and teamwork, we will become a stronger and more successful district, and I am grateful to be a part of this team making our students their priority.”

“I am ecstatic that Mark Witty will be at the helm of our district for a third year, with his commitment now running through the end of the 2025/26 school year,” School Board Chair Will Blood said. “This commitment provides extended stability for our district, students, staff and community.

“It has been a pleasure to work with Mark, and I look forward to a continued partnership with an eye on the future to make our district a better place for our students to learn and grow in the years to come,” Blood added.
