Circuit Court

The Grant County Circuit Court reported the following activity for the week ending April 24:

April 1

Christopher McLanahan, 38, of John Day, pleaded guilty to a Class A misdemeanor count of criminal mischief in the second degree committed on Oct. 28 and was sentenced to bench probation for a period of 18 months. He was ordered to complete 60 hours of community service and complete moral reconation therapy. He was ordered to pay a fine of $905.

April 24

Benjamin Lee Keith, 44, of Pendleton, was convicted of a Class A misdemeanor count of resisting arrest, committed on July 1. He was sentenced to bench probation for 18 months and was ordered to obtain an anger management assessment, complete 40 hours of community service and not publicly or privately use or possess intoxicants. He was ordered to jail confinement for 96 hours.

Eric Ivan Mountain, 46, of John Day, pleaded guilty to a Class A misdemeanor count of criminal trespass in the first degree, committed on Nov. 2. He was placed on bench probation for 18 months and was ordered to have no contact with the victim, complete 60 hours of community service and complete moral reconation therapy. He was ordered to pay a fine of $88.10. Mountain also pleaded guilty to a Class A misdemeanor count of criminal trespass in the first degree and a Class C misdemeanor count of theft in the third degree, both committed on Nov. 2. Sentences for these counts were suspended.
