JOHN DAY — Grape and Grain returns to the Grant County Fairgrounds this month.
The beer and wine festival sponsored by the Grant County Chamber of Commerce will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday, May 17, in the Trowbridge Pavilion at the fairgrounds, 411 NW Bridge St. in John Day.
This year’s lineup features three breweries, hometown favorite 1188 from John Day, Tiger Town from Fossil and Side A from La Grande, pouring their best brews.
Three wineries also will be sampling their wares: Copper Belt from Baker City and Los Rocosos and Mongata, both from Milton-Freewater.
Other vendors will be offering meats, cheeses, chocolates, honey, baked goods and more.
The multitalented Frank Carlson will be performing live music, and silent auction and raffle baskets will raise money for Grant County museums.
New attractions this year will include a photo booth and a ring toss game with a chance to win beer and wine.
Tickets can be purchased at the chamber office, 301 W. Main St. in John Day, or at the event.
The cost is $25 per person, with couples tickets available for $45 in advance or $50 at the door.
The ticket price includes a spaghetti dinner from S&S Catering, plus a glass and 25 tokens that can be used for beer and wine tastings or items offered by any of the other vendors.
