Grant County Health Fair at fairgrounds on June 14

JOHN DAY — Area residents can get a variety of health screenings and a wealth of health information at the 27th annual Grant County Health Fair.

The event runs from 7 a.m. to noon on Friday, June 14, in the Trowbridge Pavilion at the Grant County Fairgrounds, 411 NW Bridge St. in John Day.

A number of screenings will be available for free, including breast exams, blood pressure readings and dermatology skin checks. 

More comprehensive tests are available at low cost. For $37, attendees can get a general health panel that includes a complete blood count, complete metabolic panel, thyroid level check and cholesterol count. An A1C count is available for $5.

There will also be information on tai chi, stroke, grief support, services for seniors and more.

The event is co-sponsored by Blue Mountain Hospital, the Grant County Health Department, Malheur National Forest and Blue Mountain Hospital Auxiliary.
