Whiskey Fire prompts Level 2 “be set” evacuation notice

LONG CREEK — The Whiskey Fire, burning between Long Creek and Prairie City, has prompted a Level 2 “be set” evacuation advisory for the following areas:
• Keeney Fork Rd to Four Corners including Magone Lake, East of Forest Service Road 3670.
• Middle Fork Lane.
The notice was issued at 3:50 p.m. Monday, July 22, by Grant County Sheriff Todd McKinley.
There is a Red Cross shelter open 24 hours at Grant Union HS, 911 S. Canyon Blvd., John Day.
