GO NOW evacuation issued for area west of Hwy 395 south of Long Creek

LONG CREEK — A Level 3 GO NOW evacuation notice has been issued for the point where Fox Round Basin Road crosses Indian Creek east to Highway 395 and south to Justice Ranch Lane.
Residents in that area are urged to leave immediately due to fire activity, the Grant County Emergency management Office announced at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 24.
The area is between Long Creek and Mt. Vernon on the west side of Highway 395 and is being threatened by the Courtrock Fire.
A Red Cross shelter is available at Grant Union High School in John Day.
