CANYON CITY — Firefighters’ continued suppression efforts coupled with more favorable weather conditions have allowed the first lowering of evacuation levels in Grant County since July 13, the Grant County Emergency Management Office announced on Sunday, July 28.

Effective at 11:30 a.m. Sunday, the following will downgrade from Level 3 to Level 2:

• Highway 395 north of Trout Road.

• All of County Road 21/Trout Road.

• Forest Road 3980.

• Forest Road 3969.

• All of Bully Creek Lane and north to the county line. This includes the community of Dale.
