Phillip W. Schneider Wildlife Area to partially reopen

DAYVILLE — The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife’s Phillip W. Schneider Wildlife Area staff will open the Flat Creek access point for public use beginning on Wednesday, Oct. 23, the agency said in a news release.

Flat Creek Road will be open to the Aldrich Ponds parking lot, while the road to the west (Al’s Cabin) will remain closed to motorized vehicles. Lands within both the Ochoco and Malheur National Forests adjacent to the wildlife area remain closed. Areas located outside the fire perimeter are scheduled to open on Friday, Oct. 25.
