BOISE — The Red Cross of Idaho, Montana and East Oregon announced the promotion of Jennifer Bivert as their senior community disaster program manager in a press release.

Bivert previously served as the community disaster program manager for central Idaho and east Oregon.

The senior community disaster program manger is a new position in the region and will work directly with Regional Disaster Officer Scott O’Connell and other community disaster program managers to help guide disaster response and build community partnerships and resiliency.

Bivert is a resident of Payette, Idaho and has been dedicated to the mission of the Red Cross since her teenage years, starting as a disaster cycle services volunteer. She has also deployed to multiple disinter relief operations to assist in logistics fulfillment.

“With her extensive experience in program management, community engagement and volunteer leadership, Jennifer will play a key role in strengthening our disaster preparedness and response efforts across the region,” O’Connell said. “Her leadership and dedication will undoubtedly enhance our mission to serve those in need.”

Bivert’s work in bettering the lives of others continues even when she’s not wearing the red vest — she created a junior baseball league for kids in her community to explore the sport at no cost to themselves and served on the board for Idaho BackCountry Veterans before starting her role as disaster program manger last year.

“I am incredibly honored and excited to accept this role with the American Red Cross of Idaho, Montana and Eastern Oregon. This position reflects not only my dedication to serving our communities but also my commitment to fostering resilience in the face of disasters,” she said. “I look forward to collaborating with our exceptional team and working alongside community partners to enhance our preparedness efforts and ensure that we can provide the support needed during critical times.

River began her new duties on Jan. 4.
