CANYON CITY — The following information was taken from official records of the Grant County Circuit Court:

Dec. 31

Thomas Vern Busby, 52, of Prairie City, pleaded guilty to menacing and resisting arrest, both misdemeanors committed on Sept. 18. An additional count of menacing was dismissed. He was placed on supervised probation for one year and sentenced to 40 days in jail, with credit for time served. 

In addition, Busby was ordered to have no contact with the victims in the case, not use intoxicants or possess drug paraphernalia, stay out of bars and drug houses and not associate with anyone known to use, sell or possess illegal drugs.

He was also ordered to obtain an anger management assessment, mental health evaluation and substance abuse assessment, complete all recommended treatments and take medications as prescribed.
