Grant Union advances to first round state football playoff

The Grant Union Prospector football team is moving on to the first round state playoffs.

The Pros will face the Monroe Dragons at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, in Monroe.
Grant Union hosted Monroe early in their season, the Dragons taking a 20-8 win.
In that game, Grant Union head coach Jason Miller said he was proud of his team’s efforts against the defending state champions.

“I think we just played one of the top teams in the state to a tight game,” he said after the Sept. 7 game.
Monroe is ranked No. 1 and Grant Union No. 17 among OSAA’s 2A teams (Grant Union’s adjusted playoff ranking, or APR, is No. 16).
