PRAIRIE CITY – Did winter come back this week? Looks like March “came in like a lion” but not “going out like a lamb” so far this week, but there are still three days left in the month. Have some snowbirds brought the cold weather back with them? I heard some have come home.

Today, March 28, 2007, had all four guys up early to prepare seven tables, but not all tables were full as 44 singed in to eat chicken legs and thighs, rolls, green salad, corn, mashed potatoes, gravy and chocolate cake or angel food cake.
There were three meals delivered.
Marvin Casebeer led the flag salute. Ben Luethe Jr. gave the blessing.

Our servers were Louise LaBaugh, Vivian Rookstool, Lana Abarr and Pam Howard.
Leona Fritts announced a grange paint party on April 14. Bring a brush and help smear the paint on the walls.
Jim Howard won the certificate at Huffman’s for the birthday table. Prairie Drug and Hardware certificate went to Leona Fritts and Stella McCauley won the Strawberry Salon certificate.
Kathleen DuBuc and Lorna Askew brought Myn Quilling, Gene Emery, Elva Lloyd and Joyce Morton from the nursing home.
Everyone must have pitched in to clear the tables and all the usual gangs cleaned the tables and dining area floor as they were finished long before Barbara Reynolds, Buzz and I were.
Merle Workman will be missed by many of us.
