Dental van meeting

JOHN DAY – The Grant County Healthy Smiles Dental Coalition will meet at 5:30 p.m. April 19 in the Johnnie Titus room at the Health Department. The agenda will be the arrival of the dental van April 25, 26 and 27.
Calf auction dinner

Dance for Nick

Housing Authority meeting
JOHN DAY – An annual meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the Northeast Oregon Housing Authority will be held at 10 a.m. April 24 at the Outpost Restaurant in the meeting room.
Kindergarten roundup
CANYON CITY – Humbolt Elementary will hold a kindergarten roundup for parents only at 7 p.m. April 25 in the cafeteria. Children must be 5 years old or older by Sept. 1 to enroll. Bring birth certificate and immunization records. Open house for students in August. Info: 575-0454.
Cow paddy golf tourney
DAYVILLE – The 3rd annual Cow Paddy Golf Tourney will be held April 28 at the South Fork Golf Course in Dayville. Entry fee is $20 each with three people per team. Draw for team registration begins at 10:30 a.m. Tee-off at 11 a.m.

Ongoing Fossil Beds
The John Day Fossil Beds National Monument will offer two free, ranger conducted hikes featuring the geologic landscape and fossil history of the landscape. Both hikes will begin at 2 p.m. and are about one mile in length. Participants should bring hiking shoes, water and dress for the weather.
On April 21, the one hour hike will begin at the Painted Hills overlook. On April 22, a two-hour tour will begin in the Blue Basin.

LONG CREEK – The community center is available for $10 deposit and a refundable $10 cleaning fee for short gatherings and for $10 deposit and $25 usage fee for longer gatherings (five or more hours).

Prairie City Recycling
