Margie Mae Round, 94, of Dayville, died Feb. 26 at Blue Mountain Care Center in Prairie City. A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 2, at the Dayville Cemetery. A potluck will follow at the Dayville Community Church.
Round was born Nov. 5, 1921, in Elgin, to Edgar Coffin and Zada Gordon. She attended Imbler High School and Eastern Oregon University where she received her teaching degree.
On July 17, 1943, she married Kenneth Round on Pumpkin Ridge. She taught at the Monument, Long Creek and Dayville schools from 1954-1976.
She enjoyed gardening, word puzzles, playing cards, reading, and baking. She was active in the Dayville Community Church; after she retired, she continued to play piano for the church and school programs.
Survivors include her son Dave Round; six grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Round; daughter, Diane Haefer; and son, Dennis Round.
