Fire regulations in effect

Fire regulations are in effect throughout Grant County.
The Grant County Fire Defense District, along with city and rural fire departments, has implemented regulated closure, and people are encouraged to check with local jurisdictions for specific regulations.
The Forest Service and the Oregon Department of Forestry have implemented regulations as well. Check with the agencies for full, up-to-date restrictions.
By July 12, in most areas, regulations will include the prohibition of chainsaw use from 1-8 p.m., of smoking outside vehicles and of off-road travel as well as campfire restrictions.
ODF lands are in regulated closure.
Emigrant Creek Ranger District on the Malheur National Forest implemented Industrial Fire Precaution Level II and Phase A of the public use restrictions. The entire forest will implement the same July 12.
The Umatilla and Wallowa-Whitman national forests will implement those restrictions July 8 and July 10, respectively.
