Romance: Story – Slayton

Nancy Story and Jack Slayton, both of Mt. Vernon, were married June 23, 2007, at the home of Scott Whybark and Linda Nelson in John Day.

The ceremony was performed by Mark Webb of Mt. Vernon.

Linda Nelson, the bride’s mother, was the maid of honor and Sheryl Thompson of Echo was the bridesmaid.

The groom’s best friend, Tom Bogen of Bend, was the best man and Josh Slayton, the groom’s son, was the groomsman.

Kelly Workman of Mt. Vernon and Tyler Stout of Bend were the ushers.

Tristen Emmel of Prairie City was the ring bearer and Mickey Moeller of Lawton, Okla. was the flower girl.

The bride wore a sheer beaded, white gown with a three-tiered crown with her veil. She carried red, white and pink roses.

The bride’s father, Doug Story, and her brother, Paul Story, walked her down the aisle to give her away.

The groom’s mother is Gwen Slayton of Mt. Vernon.
