Cattlemen’s assoc. holding show

JOHN DAY – The Oregon Cattlemen’s Association (OCA) will hold its Mid-Year Conference & Trade Show on June 22-24 at the county fairgrounds.

Events will be kicked off with a golf scramble at the John Day Golf Club at 1 p.m. June 22. OCA Allied Industries will be hosting this event and a barbeque dinner Thursday evening.

OCA meetings will begin at 8 a.m. June 23. OCA committees will discuss issues surrounding ODA brand fee increases, proposed legislative concepts, public land grazing lawsuits, BLM grazing regulations, water rights, and wolves.

Speakers during Friday’s session will include Umatilla County Sheriff John Trumbo, EPA Dist. 10 Administrator Michael Bogert and Tim Sundles.

Oregon State University Professor Emeritus, Dean Frischknecht will be the speaker during the Friday evening banquet, which will also be a celebration of the Grant County Stock Grower’s 100 year anniversary.

Dr. Don Hansen, state veterinarian and other ODA personnel will be present.-
