MT. VERNON – Clay and Dale Finley sold the Silver Spur Restaurant two years ago, so that they could rodeo together. It didn’t work out for the new owners, so the Finleys got it back last December.

“I’m excited about having the Spur back and giving all the old customers a hard time,” Dale said.

Clay drives a mail truck three times a week and does the dishes at the restaurant.

Dale is working 70 hours a week, until business picks up in the spring. Other employees are Kim West (waitress), Rachel Sharp (cook) and Kathy Moothart (cook). Their daughter Candy and Granny Joan also help out.

Their hours are Sunday through Wednesday 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Thursday and Friday 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
