Letter: Moving the border isn’t the answer

To the Editor:

I oppose moving the border. There needs to be a way to better address the needs of Eastern Oregon than this proposal.

The cost involved for each person is significant. Idaho has significant differences, such as minimum wage, services to elderly, insurance coverage and taxes, to name a few. The demographics in both Idaho and Oregon are changing rapidly as more people are moving to both states.

I feel there needs to be discussion about ways to correct these differences without going to this extreme.
