To the Editor:

The recall election for three John Day city councilors is getting close. So, if you are a responsible voter, you now have to decide how you are going to vote. Are you going to take the time to find out the truth or are you just going to believe what you are reading or being told?

A public forum will be held at the John Day Senior Center on Sept. 3 at 6:30 p.m. The three councilors will be present to answer the allegations made against them in the recall petition filed by city Public Works Director Casey Myers.

The forum is open to the public and John Day voters are encouraged to attend. Unfortunately, Casey Myers will not be there. He has adamantly refused to attend the forum. I wonder why? He said in the petition that he has proof of his allegations, but he has never presented the proof.

I think the citizens of John Day deserve to see his proof. Otherwise, they just have to decide who they believe. Who is lying? Because someone is.
