Dayville celebrated the Fourth of July with the theme “Stars, Stripes with the Future Looking Bright.”

As always, the town marked Independence Day with a variety of activities.

The day began with breakfast at the Dayville Community Church from 7-9 a.m.

The town’s annual Fourth of July Parade on Highway 26 started at 10 a.m., with volunteers grilling up Jake Burgers at the fire hall afterwards.

There was a baked goods auction at 11:30 a.m., a hometown treasure hunt at noon at City Hall, and a jackpot horseshoe tournament in the Dayville City Park at 12:15 p.m.

Starting at 3:30 p.m., the Fish House Inn played host to live music, with a beer garden and food available.

Other activities included a coloring contest, rock painting and sidewalk chalk art.
