Christmas on the Prairie

Prairie City’s annual holiday celebration returns with the theme of “Woodland Christmas.” The American Legion Holiday Bazaar runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the cafeteria at Prairie City School. At 10:30 a.m., there will be a snowball drop on Main Street near Depot Park, and the DeWitt Museum and Sumpter Valley Railroad will host a free day. Children’s activities begin at noon at the Prairie City Community Center with a Christmas program, followed by Santa’s arrival at 1 p.m. At 4:30 p.m., Santa will officially kick off the holiday season by lighting the city center tree. A Fine Wine and Holiday Signs painting party starts at 5 p.m. at the community center; $65 covers all materials and something to sip on.
