John Day Seniors: Center hosts bingo winners

Thursday, June 10, roast beef was served by the Site Council and volunteers. Grant Western Lumber Co., furnished the entree. Marge Wagner led the flag salute and Amos Cardwell asked the blessing.
The certificate from John Day Pharmacy went to Wilma Bauer and Len’s Drug was awarded to Mary McKern.
Monday, June 14, meatloaf was served by members of the Methodist Church. Boyd Britton furnished the entree. Marge Wagner led the flag salute and Bob Willey asked the blessing.
Katie Van Cleve was a guest of LaVerne Dunn.
Chester’s Thriftway certificate was awarded to Bert Miller. Free meal went to Ivan Porfily and Pete Ryder. Del Lake won free batteries.
Last week’s bingo report was in error. Tanzy Warren and Isa each won $300, not $30, as reported.
June 24, corned beef and cabbage will be served and June 28, creamed tuna and biscuit will be served.
Carolyn Caldwell and Bob Larkin called numbers for Wednesday night bingo. Tia Barritua won $10 of the $260 blackout. Of the $500 blackout, $20 was won by Terry Foerstening.
Election of three officers to the Site Council was held. Results will be announced next week.
Thank you to all who donated or served in any way to the John Day Senior Center. We are all anxiously awaiting an announcement of any possible changes as Community Connection takes control of the Center.
