Monument Seniors: Cora Stubblefield relishes special party

Guests on May 20 were Kevin Metcalfe and Troy Freeman from Salem who brought Jewell Cote home for a while. She just returned from two weeks in Oklahoma, “counting” tornadoes. Jack and Clyde Cavender’s daughter Judy was here, joined by sisters Jan and Susan. Julian Walker provided musical entertainment.

This year’s graduating class included five local students and five foreign exchange students. Dustin Jewell must have felt like a prince among nine lovely ladies. Our boarding students will be leaving soon also.
The Touch of Country Eatery has posted their summer hours, now through Sept. 8, hours are 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday thru Saturday, and 11 a.m.-5 p.m. on Sunday.

Thirty-two came for tuna sandwiches on May 27 and Cora Stubblefield, Grace Sweek and Donna Campbell were our birthday gals. Cora provided the chocolate cake with fancy white trimming, and her children hosted a big party for her on May 25. She’s 80 years old and makes 80 look good!
