Frances Ann Elizabeth Daniels Wilson, 90, of La Grande, died Oct. 20.

She was born March 24, 1913, in Raton, N.M., the third of four daughters born to William Arthur and Caroline (Gellerman) Daniels. The family moved to Oregon when she was an infant.

Mrs. Wilson grew up in La Grande and Summerville at logging camps where her father worked. She graduated from Eastern Oregon College of Education and worked as a teacher and reading specialist in Vale and Prairie City.

She married Howard “Pink” Wilson at Weiser, Idaho, and together they enjoyed hunting and making venison mince meat. They were active in community activities, especially events at the Elks Lodge.

Although the couple had no children of their own, Mrs. Wilson was active with her nieces, Margaret and Sydney. In later years, she spent much time caring for her mother.

She enjoyed travel in the United States and Europe and spent many hours working with abandoned animals. The last few years she spent in adult foster care.

Mrs. Wilson is survived by her sister, Ruth Cronin of Pasco, Wash.; nieces, Sydney Aleson MacFarlane of Brightwood and Margaret Cronin Moore of Pasco, Wash.; nephew, Mark Cromwell of Portland; 11 great-nieces and nephews, nine great-great-nieces and -nephews; and four great-great-great-nieces.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1960, sisters Ethel Cromwell and Georgia Powell, and niece Billie Jeanne Cronin.

Services are under the direction of Loveland Funeral Chapel in La Grande. A service is planned in the Spring.
