GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – Michael Fred Eggert, 59, died at his home in Grand Junction, Colo. from complications of cancer.
Mr. Eggert was born Aug. 13, 1949 in Pender, Neb., to Ernest and Margaret Eggert. In 1961, his family moved to Grand Junction, Colo. He graduated from Grand Junction High School in 1967 and shortly after, moved to Southern California.
There he married Nancy Titus and raised two children, Jason Michael and Tracy Nicole. He made a career as a successful framing contractor, later moving to John Day in 1990. He returned to Grand Junction in 2003 to care for and spend time with his mother.
He had a love for the outdoors and spent much of his time hunting and fishing. After returning to Colorado, he enjoyed canoeing and skiing with his friend, Patricia Sussman. He worked at Alpine Glass.
Survivors include his mother, Margaret Eggert of Grand Junction; brother, Jim Busby, of Minnesota; son, Jason Eggert of La Grande; daughter, Tracy Tiernan of San Diego, Calif.; and three grandchildren, Emma and Tristan of La Grande, and Elizabeth Grace of San Diego.
