HONOLULU – Thomas Jay Larkin, 45, formerly of John Day, died Oct. 8, 2009 in Honolulu. A celebration of life was held Nov. 7 at the First Church of God in Pendleton.
Mr. Larkin was born Oct. 12, 1963, in Laredo, Texas, to Tom E. Larkin and Martha Anderson. He attended Pendleton High School and graduated from Lincoln County High School in Panaca, Nev., in 1982.
He was a former resident of John Day, Pendleton and Hermiston, and grew up living with his father and his aunt, Darlene Larkin.
He lived for several years in the Portland area, where he was a foster parent to several children.
Most recently he lived in Honolulu where he worked in construction. He also served in the U.S. Army and Army National Guard.
Survivors include his father, Tom Larkin of Battle Mountain, Nev.; mother, Martha Anderson of Las Vegas; sister, Linda Larkin of Las Vegas; brothers, Jerry Larkin of Lake Stevens, Wash., and Eugene Larkin of Redmond; two nieces; two nephews; and one aunt, Darlene Larkin of Mt. Vernon.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Michael Lee Larkin on July 10, 2009.
