Rangeland program at Baker OSU

BAKER CITY – A field-oriented program for woodland owners, ranchers and managers will be held 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 15, at the Baker County Oregon State University Extension office.

“After the Fire: Assessing and Restoring Your Forest and Rangeland,” is for those who want to learn more about assessing and managing forestland after a wildfire.
Topics to be covered include assessing fire damaged trees and stands, salvage harvest issues, marketing, site restoration and soil stabilization, weed control and more. The program will start at the Extension office and continue with field tour locations in the Beaver Creek area.
Several speakers and specialists will be on hand to share their knowledge.

Those attending should bring a lunch and drinks, and wear boots and attire appropriate for the weather.
The OSU Extension office is at 2600 East St., in Baker City.
Those interested should preregister by Friday, Oct. 9, so organizers can plan for handouts and extra water.
