Wildfire team plays for championship title

UPDATE: The Wildfire team lost a hard-fought championship game to the Parkside/Beaumont team of Portland 5-6 in the ninth inning.

PILOT ROCK – The Grant County Wildfire softball team advanced to the state championship game Tuesday, July 14, in Pilot Rock after defeating Warm Springs 12-5 in the semifinal round. The team, coached by Zach Williams, Mike Strong and Lance Zweygardt, was scheduled to face Parkside/Beaumont from Portland at 4:30 p.m. in Pilot Rock. Look for an update this evening.
