LONG CREEK – Business seems to be booming in Long Creek.
Resident Tammy Manning has opened up two ventures this summer, under the corporation name, Painted Manning Ranch, with another one planned.
And it’s all under one roof.
At one end of the building, a general store carries feed supplies and services including hunting and fishing licenses, bait and tackle, ammunition, as well as hardware and lawn and garden goods.
Manning started the feed supply business across the street earlier this year, moving it to the new location in May.
The Stampede restaurant, at the other end of the building, features a steakhouse-style menu, all fresh and made to order, plus homemade ice cream and pies, which Manning added have been “very popular.”
She added that there are no fried foods (items such as french fries are roasted), and burgers are made from a special blend of ground beef.
Sunday’s fare is an all-you-can-eat brunch.
The restaurant opened in late July.
The entire building, at the main interstection in Long Creek, has been remodeled inside and out, and divided into the three sections.
Manning plans to create a “Western motif” art gallery in the center section of the building.
Manning said parts of the building will be 100 years old next year.
The General Store is open 9:30 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Saturday, and closed on Sundays. The Stampede’s hours are 8 a.m.-8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Sundays. The restaurant is open any evening to groups of four or more people with a 48-hour advance reservation.
