Anyone alone or just not interested in cooking need not miss out on a Thanksgiving Day feast.

Two communities are offering free Thanksgiving meals with all the holiday trimmings on Thursday, Nov. 27.

• 1 p.m., Teen Center in Prairie City. For more information, or to arrange for a ride, call Prairie Baptist Church at 541-820-3696.

• 1-4 p.m., John Day Elks Lodge. People are welcome to bring a dessert or side dish to share. There will be board games to enjoy afterward, as well as football games playing on the big screen TV. The bar will not be open. Deliveries to homebound folks will be available in John Day, Canyon City, Mt. Vernon and Prairie City.
