Mabel Muldrick has built a cabin on her mining claim, the “Zero” on the east end of Canyon Mountain in the Marysville District. She plans it as sort of a summer retreat.

A bridge is being built across Canyon Creek to afford egress from the new addition to the town on the west side of the creek.

Mr. and Mrs. Mel Dexter drove up from Dayville yesterday.

Bill Hazeltine came up from Tule Lake Wednesday and will remain with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. I.B. Hazeltine until he resumes his work at Oregon State college.

Jimmy Martin and Ray Sanders are getting ready to take care of the hunters at Joaquin Miller Resort. They will have plenty of saddle and pack horses as well as guides.

Whether or not manganese deposits in Blue Mountain lands of Grant County are great enough to unfold a new mining future for the area may be determined following a special WPA engineering survey in September.

Charlie Trowbridge returned the first of the week from Gresham where he attended the Multnomah county fair. One of his race horses won on the closing day.

At the annual Harvest dance at Izee it looked like everybody was there. Neither the hall nor dining room could accommodate any more customers and they came from 50 to 75 miles around.
