PRAIRIE CITY – Nov. 5, 2008. This morning Marvin and Buzz had a female helper, Marvin Casebeer’s daughter, Kathy Thompson, helping prepare the tables.

There were two meals delivered but 43 came to eat our meal of macaroni and cheese, fried fish with lemon slices, blue cabbage salad, rolls and chocolate cake.

The flag salute was led by Buzz Harris. The blessing was by Billy Drinkwater.

Jim Howard won the Prairie Drug and Hardware certificate.

The American Legion and American Legion Auxiliary potluck is Nov. 11 at 5:30 p.m. at the Strawberry Grange to honor veterans, firemen and other emergency persons.

Georgeanne Williams joined us today after a meeting earlier.

I see Sylvia C. wrote in the Monument news that they planned to come by bus to the P.C. senior meal Nov. 26. I hope someone corrects them as we are not having our Thanksgiving dinner that day. It is on Nov. 19, so I was told. Cannot get any update of this, this Thursday morning, as everyone is gone from home.

Our faithful servers and workers after dinner were Louise LaBaugh, Vivian Rookstool, Lou Thoemke and Pam Howard. These are American Legion Auxiliary gals.

Lorna Askew and Patty Jones brought LaVerne Matteson, Wally Wedde, Ruth Johns and Stacy McKinney from the nursing home.
