- Dan Goldblatt, hatted to reflect the Mardi Gras theme, takes the microphone to announce some game winners.
The event, held Nov. 8 at the Grant County Fairgrounds, netted $18,800 to help replace the hospital’s outdated cardiac monitoring equipment. In all, 140 diners were on hand to vie for 125 donated auction items. Auctioneer Jack Southworth kept the bidding lively. Dinner was catered by Kim Jacobs and the hospital staff, with Prairie City School students serving the buffet. Hospital CEO Bob Houser said it was a huge success and a good return, especially considering the tough economic times.
