Donald James 'Don' Brumbach

Donald James Don Brumbach of Sisters, Oregon, passed away August 20, 2013 at the age of 86 from complications following a broken hip.

Don was born November 21, 1927 in Roseburg, Oregon, the second son of Joseph and Alda Brumbach. He lived in Oregon for most of his life; Roseburg, Grants Pass, John Day, Portland, Sisters; and recently Trout Creek, Montana. He was an Army Veteran, and worked as a Dairyman, Truck Driver, Equipment Operator; and he was owner/operator of Brumbach Trucking for many years. Don never met a piece of equipment he could not skillfully operate. He enjoyed road trips and hunting; after his retirement, he achieved his lifelong dreams of cattle ranching in Eastern Oregon and seeing Alaska.

Don is survived by his daughter Rita Kay and husband Paul, daughter Kathy Jo and husband Timothy, son DeeJay and wife Heidi; his grandchildren Seth, Sara, Cory and Ashlee; his great-grandchildren Seth, Jessica, Chase, Wyatt and Jack; his brother Joe and stepchildren Ken, Karen, and Keith.

He was predeceased by his wife Gayle, and his wife Dorothy, his son Barry, his grandson Benjamin, and his sister Phyllis Ann.

No services will be held at this time, final interment will be at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Oregon. Baird Funeral Home in Bend, Oregon HYPERLINK “http://www.bairdmortuaries.com” www.bairdmortuaries.com is in charge of the arrangements.
