Hollie Ann Hartill

Hollie Ann Hartill, 57, died Jan. 2 at her John Day residence, surrounded by her family. A memorial will be held at a later date.

Mrs. Hartill was born Dec. 19, 1955, in Portland, to Walter and Anna Hartill. She spent her life tending to others as a caregiver. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She had a big heart for any animal or person needing help.

Survivors include her sons, John Owens of John Day and Gary (Amanda) Owens Jr. of Syracuse, Ind.; daughters, Kristina (Steve) Armistead of John Day and Marie (Evan) Hodge of Mt. Vernon; father, Walter Hartill of Lebanon, Mo.; brothers, Gene (Carol) Hartill of Portland and Scott (Anna) Hartill of Lebanon, Mo.; sisters, Kelly (Dave) Couron of Queen Creek, Ariz., Katie (Dan) Cornell of John Day, Rose (Les) Lanz of Oregon City, and Margie (Brian) Hopkins of Fairview; six grandchildren, Nathanial, Sebastian, Molly, Annabell, Addison and Katherine (Tator); and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Anna Spitzer Hartill, and brother, Gary Hartill.
