Student poetry sought

DAYVILLE The River Valley Writers Group is holding a Cowboy Country Poetry Contest, open to all grade 1-12 students in Eastern Oregon.

The contest is designed to highlight and inspire the budding writers of Eastern Oregon, by providing a venue for presenting their work.

Each entrant may submit up to three poems of no more than 100 lines on any subject, in an form. Theres no entry fee.

Winners will be judged by members of the RVWG review committee, and will be invited to read their poetry at the Dayville Cowboy Poet Festival Sunday, June 16, in Dayville.

The prize for the first-place winner is a writers gift basket and a framed certificate. Runners-up will also receive certificates, and all entrants will get certificates of appreciation just for participating.
