PC FCCLA competes at state

PORTLAND Seven members of Prairie City High Schools Family, Career and Community Leaders of America came away winners at the State FCCLA Leadership Conference held April 5 at the Lloyd Center Doubletree Hotel and Conference Center in Portland.

Sophomore Kailey Kell was elected the FCCLA State Secretary for 2012-2013.

All the students earned medals in STAR, Students Taking Action with Recognition, events: Kushaiah Dahlen and Kristy Madsen, gold in National Programs in Action; Rachel Gray and Breanna Doty, silver in Illustrated Talk; Krystin Packard and Jessica Gray, gold in Chapter Showcase; and Kell, silver in Applied Technology.

Packard, Dahlen, Madsen and Jessica Gray also qualified to attend the National FCCLA Conference coming up July 8-12 in Orlando, Florida.
