Singing dreams

The latest Valley View Assisted Living Facility resident honored in the “Ageless Dreams” program is Joan Metlock. With the help of Phil Gray at KJDY, she was recorded as she practiced a song for Valley View’s Christmas Choir. It was then replayed over the radio and timed for the residents to hear during their Christmas party. Metlock, who had no idea of the plans, was surprised to hear herself singing on the radio. Metlock, who was born in Illinois and did office work for more than 35 years, moved to Valley View in March 2006. Now widowed, she has two children and three grandchildren.
