Long Creek man shot dead in trailer

GARIBALDI – A Garibaldi man was arrested last week in the shooting death of a Grant County man.

Tillamook County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched at 11:39 p.m. Monday, Jan. 11, to a residence where a 23-year-old woman reported that her husband had assaulted her and shot a man.

Ronald Dale Lunsford, 48, had left the scene but contacted authorities about 20 minutes later and surrendered to police about eight miles north of the home. He was arrested for aggravated murder and fourth-degree assault in connection with the incident.

Police found Christopher Q. Brusman, 48, dead in a travel trailer where he had been staying next to the house on the Lunsford property.

Brusman, from Long Creek, was on the Coast for a logging job. He and Lunsford were co-workers, the Sheriff’s Office reported.

Lunsford was scheduled to appear in Tillamook County Circuit Court on Tuesday, Jan. 26.
