Effective July 1, workers in the Portland metropolitan area who earn minimum wage will now make $14 an hour, up from $13.25.

In the so-called standard counties like Deschutes, Hood River and areas outside urban growth boundaries in Multnomah, Washington and Clackamas counties, minimum wage is $12.75 an hour, up from $12.

In non-urban counties like Jefferson and Crook, the minimum wage is $12 an hour. That’s up 50 cents from $11.50 an hour.

The minimum wage has increased each July 1 in Oregon since 2016 and is different based on region.

Next July, minimum wage will go to $14.75 for the Portland Metro area, $13.50 in standard counties and $12.50 in rural counties like Jefferson.

In 2023, Oregon’s standard minimum wage will adjust annually to the U.S. City average Consumer Price Index. Minimum wage in the Portland area will be $1.25 over the Oregon’s standard minimum wage, and rural areas will be $1 under Oregon’s standard minimum wage.
