Justice CourtCANYON CITY – The Grant County Justice Court reported the following fines and judgments:
? Michael Grant of Modesto, Calif., was cited for violation of the basic rule (77/55 zone) and fined $242.
? Ernest Ray Dickerson, Lemon Grove, Calif., was cited for violation of the basic rule (75/55 zone) and fined $145.
? Danielle Halvorson, Creswell, was cited for violation of the basic rule (75/55 zone) and fined $145.
? James Sullivan, Salem, was cited for violation of the basic rule (60/35 zone) and fined $185.
? Craig Gorges, Kelowna, British Columbia, was cited for endangering a child passenger who wasn’t wearing a seat belt, and fined $97.
? Brian La Follette, Hines, was cited for violation of the basic rule (82/55 zone) and fined $242.
? Darrell Long, Springfield, was cited for violation of the basic rule (76/55 zone) and fined $145.
? Scott Armstrong, Gaston, was cited for violation of the basic rule (75/55 zone) and fined $145.
? Stephen Jankowski, Tigard, was cited for violation of the basic rule (75/55 zone) and fined $145.
? Monica Eckenberg, White Plains, N.Y., was cited for violation of the speed law (81/55 zone) and fined $242.
? Alice Blackenship, Eugene, was cited for violation of the basic rule (79/55 zone) and fined $242.
? Tonya Burnette, Bend, was cited for violation of the basic rule (79/55 zone) and fined $145.
? Leaf Erickson was convicted of one count of minor in possession of alcohol, for a fine of $500, and one count of open container of alcohol, for a fine of $185. His driver’s license was suspended for a minimum of 90 days.
? Logan Blasdell was convicted of one count of MIP-alcohol, for a fine of $500, and one count of open container of alcohol, for a fine of $185. His driver’s license was suspended for a minimum of 90 days.
? Arainna Van-Dyken, Danika Van-Dyken and Nathaniel Dalton were each convicted of one count of attempting to take game fish in a closed stream and fined $300.
? Terry S. Burgen was convicted of possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, for a fine of $1,000, and one count of harassing wildlife, for a fine of $300.
Circuit CourtCANYON CITY – The Grant County Circuit Court reported the following fines and judgments:
? Curtis James Clark, 18, was convicted of possession of less than one ounce of marijuana and fined $603. One count of driving under the influence of intoxicants was diverted.
? Shawna Lanae Gibson, 46, was convicted of one count of DUII, placed on supervised probation for 18 months, ordered to complete 40 hours of community service, jailed for 10 days, and fined $1,293. His driver’s license was suspended for three years.
? Dennis Brian Asher, 42, was convicted of DUII, placed on supervised probation for 18 months, ordered to complete 120 hours of community service and fined $928. His driver’s license was suspended for one year. On one count of fleeing or attempting to flee a police officer, he was placed on supervised probation for 18 months, ordered to complete 20 hours of community service, jailed for five days and fined $383.
? Ezekiel Lloyd Robinson, 21, was convicted of second-degree failure to appear. He was sentenced to jail for 30 days, to run consecutive to previously imposed sentences, and fined $67.
? Bronwyn Larae Bartlett, 20, was convicted of minor attempting to purchase alcohol. Her driver’s license was suspended for a year and she was fined $242. One count of DUII was diverted and one count for violating the basic speed rule was dismissed.
? Adam K. Kightlinger, 21, was convicted of fleeing or attempting to flee a police officer; sentenced to jail for 48 hours, bench probation for 18 months, 40 hours community service, and fined $483. His driver’s license was also suspended for 90 days. Counts of fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer while in a vehicle and of third-degree escape were dismissed.
? Steven Wesley Hunt, 42, was convicted of DUII and sentenced to 90 days in jail and 36 months supervised probation, to run consecutive to previously imposed sentences. He was also fined $1,293 and his driver’s license was suspended for life. For one count of criminal driving while suspended or revoked, he was sentenced to jail for 30 days, to run consecutive and fined $67. For one count of refusing to take a breath test, he was fined $853. Two counts of reckless driving and driving uninsured were dismissed.
Oregon State Police? Oregon State Police investigated a report that someone shot and killed three deer – a doe, a buck fawn and another fawn found later – along Wall Creek Road near Monument on Wednesday, Sept. 2. Two of the deer were salvaged to the Grant County Food Bank. The third, left alive by the roadside, was finished off by the reporting party.
? On Monday, Sept. 7, on private land about four miles southwest of Seneca off U.S. Forest Road 310, Oregon State Police cited Timothy J. Lamb, 48, Damascus, for taking a cow elk without a tag and for borrowing an elk tag; Robert L. Pyle, 51, Troutdale, for lending an elk tag; and Richie A. Bridenstine, 45, Damascus, for hunting elk without a tag. The elk was seized and taken to Russell’s Meats to be cut and wrapped.
? OSP is investigating a report that a man and his stepson shot a turkey out of season while archery hunting for deer near the junction of U.S. Forest roads 55 and 5505 on Tuesday, Sept. 8.
? About 11 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 12, OSP were dispatched to a vehicle-yearling calf crash on Highway 26 east of Fields Creek Road.
? At 1:55 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 13, OSP stopped a pickup truck on Bridge Street in John Day, for obstructed plate and failing to drive within the lane. David Wayne McNeil, 56, John Day, was cited for DUII and lodged in Grant County Jail.
Grant County Sheriff? Rodney Rookstool, 48, John Day, was cited for careless driving and for failure to stop when entering from an alley or driveway.
? Daniel Rodgers, 19, John Day, was cited for offensive littering.

Vernon area; Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a felon in possession of a firearm in Canyon City; OSP and Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a horse running down Highway 26 west of Fields Creek Road; JD Police cited a Central Point man for speeding and not having insurance; JD Police responded to a report of a missing child on Bridge and Robertson streets; JD Police cited a Baker City man for speeding; Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of animal abuse at Franks Creek Ranch; JD Dispatch received a report of a forest fire on Aldrich Mountain; Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of disorderly conduct and possible trespassing at El Cocinero Restaurant; JD Police cited a Klamath Falls man for speeding; Sheriff’s deputies responded to a hit and run report in Long Creek; JD Police responded to a report of people throwing and hitting rocks with a bat towards businesses and vehicles near Country Spice.
Ambulance: Long Creek ambulance responded to a 20-year-old man with diesel in his face; Dayville ambulance responded for a 71-year-old man having a hard time breathing; John Day ambulance was requested for an elderly man having difficulty breathing; JD ambulance was paged for a 61-year-old man with a possible broken hip; JD, Dayville ambulances and Sheriff’s deputies responded for a person who fell from a cliff; JD ambulance was requested for a 79-year-old woman on Adam Road.
